Beloit Police have released more information on their homicide last week.
The investigation is ongoing, but the department says that they believe the victim was shot on Friday night. The autopsy was completed Tuesday. It could take several weeks for the time of death or any related information to be revealed.
Police also revealed that prior to discovery, they responded to a report of shots fired in the same area around 9:30 PM, and discovered shell casings. There was no evidence of anyone having been shot and the shooters or shooter appeared to have fled on foot. In order to maintain transparency, Chief Andre Sayles is stating that it is believed that the victim’s body was not visible due to the location and the time of day. Police are “diligently investigating this homicide” and are pursuing leads. If you have any information you are asked to call 608-757-2244 or 608-362-7463.
