Beloit Police Alerting Public of Sex Offender Relocation

According to a press release from the City of Beloit, 68 year old Joseph L. Wendt has been released from prison and is currently residing on Portland Ave. in Beloit. This is a temporary living placement location rented by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. Wendt’s victims were minor females. He was convicted for 1st degree sexual assault in 1988, 2nd degree sexual assault in 1988, two counts of 1st degree sexual assault of a child in 1991, and first degree sexual assault of a child in 1999. Wendt remains on supervision until January 15, 2029 and is required to register with the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry. He will also be on lifetime GPS monitoring. Wendt is to have no unsupervised contact with minors, and no contact with any victims. He is to comply with standard sex offender rules, cooperate with electronic monitoring, have face-to-face contact with law enforcement, and be a lifetime registrant of the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry.
