Beloit Man Faces Arson Charges For Burning Flag

A Beloit man faces various felony charges after allegedly burning a member of his family's american flag among other things according to a court complaint. Cody Sholes allegedly burned clothes and the American flag that was his father's memorial service flag from the 60’s, his father is deceased. Sholes also allegedly damaged a woman’s car by carving an obscenity into the windshield pillar. He’s charged with two counts of arson of property, criminal damage to property and two counts of obstruction, he served a year in prison in 2018 for burning an 11 month old golden retriever with hot water, no future court date has been set.
