Beloit Man Arrested for 8th Offense OWI

According to an update from the Town of Beloit Police Department, on Friday morning just before 1 a.m., officers from the Town of Beloit Police and Rock County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to a location on Riverside Dr. in the Town for a single vehicle traffic crash with injury. During the investigation, officers discovered an SUV had struck a tree at the location. Video surveillance later showed the SUV was traveling northbound on Riverside and crossed over the southbound lanes before entering an embankment at 3360 S. Riverside Dr. The driver, 64 year old Brian D. Burkeimer, was located semi-conscious in the driver's seat of the vehicle. He was ultimately arrested for 8th offense OWI and is currently being treated for injuries sustained in the accident.
