Beloit Fire Department Responds to Garfield Avenue Kitchen Fire

According to an update from the City of Beloit Fire Department, yesterday they responded to a kitchen fire at about 11:30 a.m. in the 700 block of Garfield Avenue. Nobody was injured. Because the kitchen doors were closed, the fire damage was limited to the kitchen with some extended smoke damage. The City of Beloit Fire Department encourages residents to close doors in their home, especially bedrooms, as closed doors can help slow down fires and save lives. A damage estimate is not yet available. The residents are displaced from the home.
