Beloit Fire Department Responds to Friday Fire

According to an update from the City of Beloit Fire Department, on Friday they responded to a residential fire on Fayette Ave. Upon arrival, crews found smoke coming from the home. The owner had evacuated prior to the department's arrival, and damage to the home is estimated to be $22 thousand. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was unattended cooking, and the owner is being assisted by the Red Cross.
