According to an update from the Jefferson Police Department, Alan Richter has been appointed to the position of Chief of Police. Richter has been with the Jefferson Police Department for 17 years, and held positions as a patrol officer, patrol lieutenant and patrol captain. He has also worked with the Jefferson County Drug Task Force.
