3rd OWI For Janesville Woman With Two Children In Vehicle

Yesterday at approximately 530 pm, Deputies from the Rock County Sheriff’s Officer were dispatched to a traffic crash with blockage. Upon arrival to the 4000 block of W CTH A, in Rock County, Deputies located a van in the lane of traffic. This van had entered the ditch on W CTH A striking two mailboxes before reentering the roadway and becoming disabled. There were three occupants in the vehicle at the time of the crash, an adult female driver and two children. None of the occupants were injured. The driver, Cassandra Verdin, from Janesville showed signs of impairment, and after an investigation, was arrested for OWI. Cassandra has two prior OWI convictions on her driving record making this her third offense with the enhancer of passenger under 16 years old, a felony in Wisconsin. Cassandra will be held in the Rock County Jail pending an initial court appearance.
