2 Dead, 5 Injured In Rock County Crash

Multiple people are dead after a serious accident in Rock County. According to the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, around 4:30 PM, fire officials from multiple agencies responded to the intersection of Highway 14 and North Tuttle Road in the Town of Porter. Authorities said a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer travelling west ran a stop sign and struck a 1999 Chevy Silverado heading east, the pickup truck spinning out of control and snapping a power pole while the SUV ended up in a farm field. The driver of the pickup was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene, while two occupants of the SUV were also ejected, with a male pronounced dead at the hospital and a female injured. Four others were transported to area hospitals with various injuries. Highway 14 was closed between North Toles and North Riley roads for about 6 ½ hours and residents were without power for several hours. Multiple agencies are investigating the crash, and the sheriff’s office says it is currently unknown what charges, if any, will be pending.
