Wrestling Upgrades At Whitewater Schools

On Monday night, the WUSD School Board approved the purchase of new wrestling mats for both Whitewater Middle School and Whitewater High School. The upgrade will cost $18,900 and come from donated funds. Coach Bean estimates the current mats in use to be at least 38 years old, and long due for an upgrade. The current mat in use at Whitewater High School was acquired in a deal with UW-Whitewater, allowing use of the mat in exchange for storage. The new mat will be owned outright by WUSD, and far lighter than the old one. The competition mat will feature the Whitewater High School logo.
