The Wisconsin Department of Justice has released additional information on the December 15 Officer involved shooting in Beloit, where a subject attempted to take a sergeant's firearm causing the sergeant to discharge their firearm, striking the subject. The subject was taken to a local hospital and is expected to survive. The involved officer from the department is Shannon Dykstra, a 13 year veteran from the department. The department of criminal investigation is continuing to review evidence and determine the facts of the incident. There is no danger to the public at this time in connection to this case.
