Whitewater Teen Facing Charges Including Burglary

Whitewater resident 18 year old Jose D. Altena is facing charges including burglary to a building or dwelling, three counts of felony bail jumping, and three counts of theft of movable property less than or equal to $2.5 thousand after an incident that occurred on March 26. He pleaded not guilty to all charges on May 2. On April 18 a $10 thousand bond was set, and he was ordered not to possess or consume alcohol, and he cannot enter any bars, taverns, or liquor stores. He also cannot possess any firearms, ammunition, or other weapons. Altena cannot contact two involved victims, and he must also avoid their residence/place of employment or any place they are located. Altena has an upcoming court appearance on May 20 at 1:15 p.m.
