According to a post from Whitewater High School, student Sophia Walton has been named a Commended Student in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program. Commended students are among the top 50 thousand students who entered the 2022 competition by taking the 2020 PSAT and National Merit Scholarship Test. A spokesperson for the National Merit Scholarship noted that these students demonstrate potential for academic success. Walton is President of the National Honor Society this year and has plans to pursue a double major in Neuroscience and Dietetics
