Whitewater residents 25 year old Yesenia Chavez and 25 year old Ramiro E. Soto are facing multiple charges including attempted armed robbery, disorderly conduct, and battery after an incident that occurred on June 12. Soto is facing an additional charge of strangulation and suffocation, two counts of felony bail jumping, and misdemeanor bail jumping.
On June 13, Soto had a bond amount set for $25 thousand. He was ordered not to possess or consume alcohol, and he cannot enter any bars, taverns, or liquor stores. He also cannot possess any firearms, ammunition, or other weapons or firearm facsimile. Soto cannot contact the two victims involved.
On June 14, a $10 thousand bond was set for Chavez. She was ordered not to possess any firearms, ammunition or other weapons. She also cannot contact an involved victim, or Soto. The two of them have an upcoming court appearance on July 7 at 1:15 p.m.
