Whitewater Fire Department Rewponds to Structure Fire

According to an update from the Whitewater Fire Department, on Tuesday crews were dispatched to a structure fire in the area of W3500 Vannoy Dr. First arriving crews found smoke coming from the roof and eves of the structure. MABAS box 12-5 was requested, bring crews from Walworth and Jefferson departments to the scene. Crews found a small kitchen fire that was extinguished after about 15 minutes. Overhaul and cleanup took about an hour with crews remaining on scene to assist the homeowner.
