According to an update from the Whitewater Fire Department, on Monday they responded to three separate incidents. At about 6:20 a.m. they responded to Caine St. for an activated fire alarm, but no fire was found. At 5:20 p.m. they responded to an incident on N. Newcomb St. for a report of an activated alarm. No alarm was present, but they found a heater malfunctioning. The issue was referred to the landlord. Lastly, shortly after 7 p.m. an alarm was activated on Tratt St. and smoke was present on the first floor. The department found the burned food was the cause.
