Whitewater Fire Department Responds to Highway 49 Accident

According to an update from the Whitewater Fire Department, yesterday at about 4:40 a.m. they were dispatched to a report of a vehicle accident in the area of Highway 49 and Taylor Rd. Upon arrival, two vehicles were found in a field south of Highway 59. Two subjects were trapped in a pickup truck truck while all occupants were out of the SUV. Also assisting at the scene was the Milton and Janesville paramedic units and the engine company from Lauderdale LaGrande. Flight for Life was put on standby. It took crews about 15 minuted to free the two occupants from the pickup truck and both were taken to the hospital, as well as the driver of an equinox. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
