Whitewater Fire Department Responds to Four Calls on Thursday

According to an update from the Whitewater Fire Department, they responded to four calls on Thursday. At 11:26 a.m. they responded to the 400 block of Whitewater St. for a camper on fire. The fire was small and appears to have been started due to a wood burning stove in an ice shanty. Crews were on scene for about 5 minutes. Then at 2:26 p.m. crews responded to 239 N. Prince St. for an activated fire alarm. Crews were cancelled in route, and officers on scene found burned popcorn. At 3:59 p.m. crews responded to the 200 block of W. Whitewater St. for smoke coming from the vents in a business. Crews believe it was a furnace issue, and no fire was found. Crews were on scene for about 15 minutes. At 10:06 p.m. crews responded to the 6600 block of N. County Line Rd. for an activated fire alarm. No fire was found.
