According to an update from the Watertown Police Department, over the weekend they made three OWI arrests. During the arrest that occurred on Sunday at about 6:30 a.m. officers responded to a report of suspicious activity near the 100 block of E. Spaulding St. When officers arrived, they contacted a 29 year old man and a 39 year old man sitting in a vehicle, who stated they were traveling between friends houses and were having trouble with the vehicle. However, officers saw drug paraphernalia in plain view. The 39 year old who was operating the vehicle admitted he had smoked marijuana, injected methamphetamine, and drank alcohol. While completing the OWI investigation of the 29 year old, the 29 year old was arrested for resisting/obstructing an officer after failing to follow officer commands and began to fight with the officers The 39 year old was arrested for his 6th offense OWI, and through an additional investigation officers discovered suspected methamphetamine and marijuana in the vehicle. The 39 year old male was held in custody at the Dodge County Jail and a charge of 6th offense OWI along with drug charges has been sent to the Dodge County District Attorney’s Office. The 29 year old was booked and released.
