Village of Walworth Police Respond to Excavator that Hit Railroad Overpass

According to a press release from the Village of Walworth Police Department, yesterday at about 5:15 a.m. they were dispatched to Highway 67 at the railroad overpass for a report of an excavator that had struck the railroad overpass. Upon arrival, officers found a large excavating piece of equipment on the shoulder of the northbound lane of traffic, large amounts of debris in the northbound and southbound lanes, damage to the railroad overpass, and damage to the northbound guardrail. However, no truck or trailer that was hauling the excavating equipment was located. The operator of the truck that was hauling the trailer and equipment was later located, and more information may be given as it becomes available.
