UW-Whitewater Student Covid-19 Vaccination Rate Reaches 70%

According to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, 70% of students have been vaccinated against COVID-19. This number is current as of last week Friday. The UW System met this goal early, with their goal being to reach 70% vaccinated by October 31. Additionally, UW-Whitewater employees, including faculty and staff, are at a 91% vaccination rate. Vaccinated UW-Whitewater students will be eligible for the UW System scholarship valued at $7 thousand that will take place later this fall, where 70 students in the UW System will be selected. Interim Chancellor, Jim Henderson, has noted that alumni and other donors have also assisted in funding weekly $500 drawings to incentivize the vaccine, which has totaled to an additional $20 thousand in vaccine incentives.
