Upcoming Street Construction in Watertown

According to an update from the City of Watertown, the city will use American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) funding to make improvements on East Main Street between 1st and Market Streets. In the first phase, the City of Watertown’s seal coating contractor will seal coat the north and south parking lanes along East Main Street between 1st to 9th Streets on Tuesday, August 23 starting at 7 p.m. and finishing around 9 p.m.

The City will place temporary NO PARKING signs along the route on both sides of the curb line noticing no parking on Tuesday between 6 – 10 p.m. The contractor will return on Thursday, August 25 starting at 7 p.m. and finishing around 9 p.m. Temporary NO PARKING signs along the route will remain in place but designate when no parking will be enforced.

Shortly after the parking lanes are seal coated, the City’s pavement marking contractor will stripe both the north and south parking lanes with epoxy paint. The scheduling of this work is weather and equipment dependent.

A second phase will occur in late September, where the east and west bound travel lanes will receive mill and overlay, to be followed by pavement marking.
