According to an update from the City of Whitewater, Field and Stream Restorations will conduct a prescribed burn on the two lake beds of Tripp and Cravath sometime between today and December 23. This burn will help prepare for the dredging that may occur in 2022 and the subsequent lake refilling. Field and Stream Restorations is insured and has burned hundreds of acres safely in the past. They will be equipped with several types of mobile water sources for fire suppression, as well as several UTV’s and ATV’s with mounted sprayers. Residents who live near the lake are advised to close their windows and doors so smoke does not enter the home.
