Two Watertown 18 year olds, Avery A. Bence and Thatcher R. Sehrbrock, were sentenced this week to one year in jail and 7 years of probation after a robbery incident that occurred on November 28 of 2020.
For Sehrbrock, during his probation he must have an Ignition Interlock Device installed on any motor vehicle he owns or operates. He is not to consume alcohol or other intoxicants, and must maintain absolute sobriety. Additionally, he cannot be within the premises of any establishment whose primary business activity involves the sale or distribution of alcoholic beverages, including bars, taverns, liquor stores, and beer tents. Sehrbrock cannot use, possess, or control any controlled substances (without a valid prescription) or drug paraphernalia, and cannot be in the presence or anyone who does.
For Bence, during his probation he must maintain full-time employment and pursue a course of mental health treatment. His treatment provider must report any progress or lack of progress, including lack of adequate effort or engagement. The treatment provider must also provide at least quarterly progress reports. The treatment provider must disclose failure to appear at sessions, failure to fully engage, dishonesty, and any other failure to fully participate in treatment. Bence must continue and successfully complete Alcohol and Other Drug Assessment treatment and engage in after care. Bence will also have regular and random drug testing to determine strict compliance with prescribed medications and use of illegal substances. He must not have any violent or abusive contact with anyone, and cannot consume alcohol or intoxicants. Bence must maintain absolute sobriety and cannot be in any establishment whose primary business activity involves the sale or distribution of alcoholic beverages, including bars, taverns, liquor stores, and beer tents.
