According to a press release from the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, yesterday at about 6:30 a.m. deputies responded to a multiple vehicle crash with injuries occurring on East US Highway 14, west from South Trunk Highway 140 in Bradford Township. Two males from Janesville, one 57 years old and the other 74 years old, died as a result of the accident. Investigations show that the 57 year old was in a 2011 GMC Acadia driving westbound when he crossed the centerline into the eastbound lane for known reasons, and struck the 74 year old driver in the 2014 GMC Sierra. Both vehicles became disabled from the crash, and the drivers were trapped inside. Responding deputies attempted lifesaving measures but were unsuccessful. Another driver from Delavan heading eastbound on East US Highway 14 behind the Acadia swerved to miss the crash, but ultimately entered the ditch. The airbags deployed and the vehicle became disabled, but the driver was not injured. East US Highway 14 was closed for about 3.5 hours for investigation and towing, and reopened shortly after 10 a.m.
