Town of Delavan Police and Fire Respond to Incident where ATV Broke Through Ice

According to a press release from the Town of Delavan Police Department, yesterday at about 12:30 p.m. they along with the Town of Delavan Fire Department were notified of an ATV that had possibly went through the ice on Delavan Lake near Alpine Ln. Officers arrived on scene and found a lone 63 year old male subject from Delavan standing on the ice about 150 ft. from the shoreline. He stated that he was not hurt and had been alone on the ATV when it went through the ice. Officers observed the ice in the area where the subject was standing, and it was thick enough to sustain his weight. The officers had the subject remain where he was until the firefighters arrived and were able to reach the subject with emersion suits. The subject was ultimately checked by rescue and was released.
