According to the Beloit Police Department, officers responded to a report of an individual experiencing a gunshot wound at about 1:45 a.m. yesterday morning in the 1800 block of Pool Ct. The investigation showed that the injury was self inflicted due to the accidental discharge of a firearm. The individual who was hurt, 18 year old Djuel J. Gonzalez, was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Gonzales was provided a court date for endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon. While officers were at the scene, they made contact with a 16 year old male who was previously reported as missing from Chicago. The juvenile attempted to flee, but he was taken into custody.
