School District of Milton Monday Night Board Meeting

Last night the School District of Milton Board met and discussed many important topics.

Mike Huffman gave a report on facilities update projects at the High School. Still to be completed; near November 1 the contractor will be installing coiling doors at the cafeteria expansion area, and they will also complete all remaining landscaping. Later into the future in the Spring of 2022, they will work on corrective work on the pool deck concrete coating, and in Summer of 2022 they will install new balcony railings in the old gym.

Additionally, the board approved new classes for the 2022/2023 school year. These classes include Medical Intervention, Cybersecurity, Spanish in the Medical Field, Spanish in Trades, and Chamber Ensemble. More information on each of the classes can be found in the attached document.

Perhaps the biggest topic of discussion was the adoption of the budget for the 2021/2022 school year. The budget is just over $45 million, and the approved total tax levy is over $19 million with a tax rate of $8.29 per $1 thousand of the assessed value.
