School District of Milton and Milton Police Department Investigate Threat to Middle School

In an update from the School District of Milton, a letter was sent home to middle school families earlier this week due to the administration becoming aware of a potential threat to student safety at the middle school. The school district worked with the police department as there was a student who made a statement indicating their intent to bring a weapon to school. The district states that this statement was made on impulse, without any intent to carry out the threat. The student and his family have fully cooperated with law enforcement during the course of their investigation. The student is not being allowed to attend school while the district follows the next disciplinary steps outlined by the student handbook and code of conduct.
