School District of Janesville Rescinds Facemask Use Metric

According to an update from the School District of Janesville, at last night’s Board of Education meeting, the commissioners voted 8-0 to rescind the “Facemask Use Metric” that was approved at the October 12, 2021 meeting. This vote changes the district's face mask policy from required to recommended. This change will take effect at 4 p.m. today. However, there is an exception to this new rule, and anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 and is cleared to return to school after 5 days must still wear a face mask in school for days 6-10. Students are still also required to wear masks on school buses per federal requirement.
