At last night’s School District of Janesville Board meeting, Superintendent Steve Pophal discussed programming for the 2021/2022 school year. Elementary schools will utilize in person learning, but will keep smaller class sizes due to young children not being able to obtain vaccines. ESSER 2 funds will be used to pay for keeping classes smaller. Middle and high school will return to a mostly pre-pandemic model and will continue to be in person. There will also be full athletic programming for the upcoming year, and WIAA guidelines will be followed. The district has also allowed two snow days to be built into the calendar, and will then utilize virtual learning should the number of snow days exceed 3. To watch the full meeting, visit
