Rock County Sheriff's Office Warning of Law Enforcement Officer Impersonator

According to a press release from the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, on August 30 at about 8:50 p.m. a female driver was stopped by who she believed was a Law Enforcement Officer. The stop occurred on Plymouth Church Road by Bakke Road in Rock Township. After a brief interaction with the female, the male allowed her to leave the traffic stop. The Rock County Sheriff’s Office learned of this stop due to social media posts. After speaking to the female driver, the Rock County Sheriff’s Office determined the traffic stop was not conducted by a Law Enforcement Officer. According to the female driver, the male was driving a dark colored Truck or SUV type vehicle that had red and blue alternating lights in the upper front windshield. The male was described as white, approximately 6 feet tall, with brown hair and a goatee. The male was approximately early to mid-thirties with a slender build. The male was also wearing a black uniform short sleeve shirt, black pants, and black baseball hat with a duty belt. However, the female driver was uncertain regarding what type of equipment may have been on the duty belt. Anyone with information regarding this should call the Rock County Sheriff’s Office at 608-757-7919.
