Rock County Sheriff's Office Investigating Hit and Run

Yesterday, the Rock County Sheriff’s Office was advised of a hit and run that occurred near the area of north County Line Rd. and E. Springbrook Rd. in Whitewater. The suspect hit a few stop signs in the area. Officers have made contact with the suspect, who is described as a 28 year old male. Information has not yet been released regarding what will happen to the suspect. Mark Thompson, the Captain of Patrol Operations for the Rock County Sheriff's Office, shared that it was a nearby resident who reported the hit and run and also the importance of reporting such incidents; especially if drivers unfamiliar with the layout of the area come across an intersection where there is supposed to be a stop sign and there is not one. Thompson also noted that any affected signs have been replaced.
