Rock County Seeking Input on Child Welfare System

According to a Rock County press release, they are inviting feedback regarding the Child Welfare System. The Rock County Board of Supervisors has approved a contract with the Butler Institute for Families at the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work to assess the County’s Child Protective Services program. This project includes a comprehensive child welfare case review to assess compliance with county and state policies, and best practices in the child welfare field. As part of this process, the Butler Institute will host focus groups for various stakeholders to share their opinions and experiences with child welfare services in Rock County. Stakeholder groups include foster parents, birth parents, youth (over 18), service providers, court personnel, Human Services Department staff, and other interested parties. Confidential 75-minute focus groups will be offered at various days and times between May 12-26, and will be specific to each stakeholder group. The focus groups will be held via videoconferencing technology, or are accessible by calling in on the phone. Participants will also be able to utilize parent partners to help set up a private space and computer to log into.
