According to a press release, the Rock County Department of Public Health is updating its COVID-19 prevention guidance for residents. According to the CDC’s metrics, Rock County is at a medium COVID-19 community level. Over the past weeks, COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations in the county have decreased and are continuing to be in a downward trend. During this time of lower transmission, individuals can take a break from mask wearing in most situations. Individuals at higher risk for severe disease are encouraged to talk to their healthcare providers to see if they should continue to wear a mask or follow other increased prevention measures. Anyone who has symptoms, a positive test result, or has been in contact with someone who has COVID-19 should wear a mask. Masks are still required on public transportation and in transportation hubs such as airports. Individuals should also continue to follow any mask requirements in place at healthcare facilities, businesses, or places of employment.
