According to a press release from the Richmond Township Fire Protection District, on Monday at about 10:10 a.m. they responded to a report of a single motorcycle accident with injuries on US Route 12 at the Illinois/Wisconsin State line. First arriving Richmond Fire units found a motorcycle down with one patient lying in the roadway on Route 12 in Illinois. Emergency care was in progress to the patient by members of Newport Township Fire Protection District (Wadsworth IL) who had been on the road from a fire apparatus maintenance facility. The patient was found to have potentially life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital. The Richmond Police Department and the Genoa City, WI Police Department provided traffic control and scene management by briefly shutting down Route 12 from Commercial Street to South Road.
