According to an update from the City of Janesville, next week contractors will replace public side lead water services throughout the city. As a part of this replacement, temporary water shutoffs will occur to facilitate work. Contractors will notify affected customers with a door hanger 24 hours before work starts. Water shutoffs are estimated to be less than four hours in length.
The City anticipates properties located on Milton Avenue, from Benton Avenue to East Centerway, to see temporary water service interruptions while contractors complete work.
The outside lanes of Milton Avenue, from Walker Street to East Centerway, will be closed during the duration of the replacement work. Left turns off of Milton Avenue will be restricted at Hyatt Street and Glen Street. JTS bus stops in this area will be relocated as needed. Riders may contact JTS at (608) 755-3150 for updated location information. Upon completion of the project, all lanes of Milton Avenue will be open to traffic.
