Motorcyclist Passes Away After Saturday Night Vehicle Accident

According to a news release from the Walworth County Sheriff's Office, on Saturday just after 11:30 p.m. the communications center received a report of an injury crash involving a motorcycle and car on State Highway 11 and Plank Road in the Town of Lafayette. Upon arrival at the scene, Deputies and the Elkhorn Fire Department identified a male patient with life threatening injuries as 70 year old Daniel J. Lust of Burlington. Lust was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of his injuries. Another victim, 27 year old Victor Manuel Torres Nieto from Burlington, had only minor injuries. The initial investigation determined that Lust failed to stop for a posted stop sign while traveling southbound on Plain Rd. and was struck by Torres Nieto's vehicle. Other assisting agencies in the case include the Elkhorn Fire Department, City of Lake Geneva Fire Department-Paramedics, and the Walworth County Medical Examiner’s Office.
