Evansville Police will have extra patrols this weekend ahead of the Fourth of July celebration which is slated for Saturday. Police are also reminding residents that any fireworks that explode or go up into the air are illegal and that rule will be enforced. Meanwhile, Burlington Police are also reminding the community that fireworks must be obtained by permit, per an ordinance in the city. Fireworks are described as anything that is manufactured, processed or packaged for the purpose of exploding. Permits can be obtained at city hall. Fines for illegal fireworks range from $250-$439.
