Kayleigh's Law Passed in State Assembly

According to a press release from 38th Assembly District Representative Barbara Dittrich, on February 23 Assembly Bill 520/Senate Bill 519 was passed in the State Assembly. Kayleigh’s Law allows a victim to petition a judge for a lifetime restraining order against a convicted rapist. Senate Bill 519 is now headed to the State Senate before it goes to the Governor’s desk to be signed. If the governor signs this legislation into law, Wisconsin would become only the second state in the nation to institute such a measure to protect victims.
