Johnson Creek Fire and EMS Responds to Structure Fire

According to a press release from the Johnson Creek Fire and EMS Department, last week on Friday at about 9:20 a.m. they were dispatched to a structure fire at 131 Deer Crossing. The original 911 call reported smoke coming from the windows of the residence and nobody was coming to the door. Audible alarms could be heard.

Johnson Creek engine 8561 arrived on scene and investigated the source of smoke from the front entrance. Entry was made and met with heavy smoke from the main entrance, and it was determined that additional resources were needed.

Origin of the fire was in the finished basement, and it was quickly extinguished with about 250 gallons of water. Following extinguishment, the structure was ventilated, and confirmation was made of no further fire extensions. Nobody was injured during this response.

Damage estimates are not currently available, and the fire remains under investigation.
