According to a press release from the Janesville Police Department, yesterday at about 1:12 a.m. an officer was southbound in the 200 block of Milton Ave. when they were almost hit head-on by an oncoming vehicle. The officer was able to make their way back northbound to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle also had a defective driver side brake light. The officer made the traffic stop in the area of Glen St. and Prairie Ave. Contact was made with the driver, identified with her revoked Wisconsin driver’s license as 56 year old Brenda Mcintyre. Mcintyre had the odor of intoxicants coming from her breath and showed signs of being impaired. The officer attempted to have Brenda do Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. However, she was unable to complete them due to her being intoxicated. Brenda showed eight prior OWI convictions on her driving record, and was arrested for her ninth OWI and refused a legal blood draw. A search warrant was drafted, reviewed, and signed by a judge to collect her blood. She was transported to the Rock County Jail where she is currently being held for 9th offense OWI, operating after revocation, operating left of center, and non-registration of auto until her initial court appearance.
