According to an update from the City of Janesville Police Department, on Sunday morning a suspect fired nine indiscriminate rounds towards three people including a child sleeping inside a home that was struck by gunfire. No one was shot, and the suspect was taken into custody within 36 hours of the shooting and the weapon was recovered. Also on Sunday, a loaded Walther P22 handgun was found on a westside city street. The weapon had one .22 round in the chamber and 10 rounds in the magazine. The safety was off.
Additionally, last week a loaded Glock Model 19 was found on an eastside city street. The weapon had one 9mm round in the chamber and 15 rounds in the magazine. The weapon was fire-ready.
