Janesville Police Make Two Arrests After Saturday Robbery Incident

According to an update from the Janesville Police Department, on Saturday at about 6:45 p.m. police were dispatched to a report that a male had attempted to rob a liquor store on W. Court St. after displaying a metal pipe to the clerk and demanding money. The clerk provided a description of the suspect vehicle, and while other officers responded to investigate the robbery, Officer Jon Williams began checking other businesses. When he passed a gas station on Center Ave., he observed a vehicle that matched the clerk’s description. As the officer pulled in to investigate, he saw a male run from the store, jump into the passenger door, and yelling for the driver to go. Officer Williams observed the clerk waving their arms as though they had just been another victim. Officer Williams initiated a vehicle pursuit of the suspect that traveled south on Highway 51 into the City of Beloit. Eventually, a Beloit Police Officer deflated the suspect vehicle’s tires with a tire deflation device. The vehicle came to a stop on Highway 51 just north of Henry Ave. Janesville Police, Beloit Police, and the Rock County Sheriffs Office began the process of ordering the occupants out of the vehicle. The suspect in the passenger side yelled that he had a gun, then exited the vehicle in a rapid manor, holding a metal pipe as through it were a shotgun and making a “racking” motion with his hands and pointing at officers at the scene. The officers recognized the item was not a firearm and did not fire. The suspect was taken into custody, and the driver was also arrested. The passenger was identified as 47 year old Benito M. Del Bosque, and the driver was identified as 25 year old Emily A. Revel. Del Bosque is currently on probation with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections for Armed Robbery. He was arrested on two charges of armed robbery, retail theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting/obstructing an officer, and felony probation violation. Revel was arrested on charges of party to a crime of armed robbery, party to a crime of retail theft, fleeing an officer, 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety, and misdemeanor bail jumping.
