According to an update from the Janesville Police Department, on Thursday at about 8 p.m. an officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 500 block of Blackbridge Rd. in Janesville. The operator of the vehicle was identified as 35 year old Evansville resident Treshawn McDaniel. During the course of the traffic stop, a K9 was requested to sniff the exterior of the vehicle, which gave a positive indication for the presence of narcotics. A search located a loaded handgun with an extended magazine under the driver's seat. A small amount of marijuana was also located in the vehicle. McDaniel was transported to Rock County Jail.
