According to an update from the City of Janesville, the Planning Division will soon be conducting an in-person and virtual survey of bicycle and pedestrian trail use across Janesville. From June 21 to July 10, surveyors will be on City trails to distribute user surveys and take manual counts of trail users. New this year, the City will also use traffic counters (pneumatic tubes) to collect more in-depth counts on the trail network and select on-street bicycle corridors. These tubes are safe to walk and bicycle over. This Planning Division conducts this survey every three years as an essential part of the City’s commitment to providing a high quality of life with exceptional bicycle and pedestrian options. In-person surveying will take place at nine trail locations:
Downtown near the Janesville Transit Center
Ice Age Trail at Wright Road
Ice Age Trail at East Milwaukee Street
Palmer Park, Briarcrest Park
South of Sheiffer Park
Peace Trail at Rockport Road
Monterey Park
Highway 11 Trail at Prairie Knoll Park.
The public may also complete the trail survey online at https://arcg.is/1KT848.
