Janesville Man Arrested After Wednesday Stabbing Incident

According to a press release from the Janesville Police Department, on Wednesday at about 7 p.m. the Police Department and Fire Department were dispatched to the 100 block of S. Franklin St. for a subject stabbed in the head. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.


Through the investigation, officers learned the incident took place on E. Racine St. near S. Main St. The victim was driving on E. Racine St. and the suspect vehicle pulled in front of the victim’s vehicle blocking his lane of traffic. The suspect got out of his vehicle and walked up to the victim, stabbing him in the head with a knife. The suspect then left the incident location. The victim and suspect did not know each other prior to the incident, and the victim was able to leave the scene and call Rock County dispatch.


As a result of the investigation, officers later located the suspect and suspect’s vehicle. The suspect, 28 year old Damien S. Walls, was taken into custody without incident. The investigation remains ongoing, and Walls has been arrested and charged with first degree recklessly endangering safety while armed, substantial battery while armed, disorderly conduct while armed, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession with intent to deliver THC.
