Janesville Fire, Police, and Rock County Sheriff's Office Respond to Woman in Water

According to a press release from the Janesville Fire Department, yesterday at about 1:40 p.m. the Janesville Fire and Police Units, along with Rock County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a female in the water at the Centerway Bridge. It was relayed that the female was clinging to the safety cable that spanned the river underneath the bridge. First arriving Janesville Police Officers dropped a rope to the female, which held her in-place until the Janesville Fire Department dropped a life jacket to her. Shortly after the life jacket was secured around the female, a Janesville Fire Department boat approached from the north and pulled her into the boat and transported her to a waiting ambulance. The 63 year old female was transported to a hospital in Janesville with non-life threatening injuries.
