Janesville Police are investigating a scary incident that took place in the early hours of this morning. Around 2:40, they responded to the 600 block of High Street where a fire was seen burning on the second floor. Residents were evacuated from the building and officers were able to contain the flames until JFD could arrive on scene. Police say this is a suspicious situation. One police officer was transported with smoke inhalation but was treated and released. Police said the original call came in as a burglary. No other injuries were reported.
