Fort Atkinson Teacher Receives State-Wide Recognition

According to a press release from the School District of Fort Atkinson, art teacher Frank Korb has earned state-level recognition from the Wisconsin Art Education Association, as he has won the Outstanding Secondary Art Educator Award. This award is given to an individual that has significantly contributed to their division in art education. Dan Halvorsen, principal of Fort Atkinson High School, said:

"Frank is truly a dedicated and motivated leader taking on additional roles and responsibilities beyond that of an everyday art instructor. His role in state-level organizations, including regional leadership as the Southeastern WI regional Vice-President and Statewide leadership as the Youth Art Month Chairperson for two years, put him in a network that continues to expand opportunities for our students. Aside from having one of our student's artwork proudly displayed in the state Governor's office, he increased awareness in public forums and the political arena of the continued need of focus to expand the arts in our everyday lives. His classroom work and drive to bring the 21" Century into the classroom is beyond admirable and his students recognize and appreciate the work he has done during a

pandemic and beyond. In addition, Frank can be witnessed constantly striving to remain technologically advanced and relevant to insure the success of our programs through his Google Certified Educator Level 1 and the goal of Level 2 certifications. His collaboration with other members of our high school staff contributed to our school being the first in the school district to have all certified staff being Google 1 certified as well."
